Add 10 Years to Your Life with Simple Resolutions

You want a long life with your health intacked:then keep your self fit.A lot of people are reaching the age of 85 plus, with not trouble atall. A good few make the 100 mark in good health.

What gets the credit for this statistic? Many of us not only want to live longer, we want to live healthier lives in which to enjoy the longevity of them. There are some simple things that you can do that will help you to live longer.

The first thing to do is to go and see your doctor and have a check up.Any health problems will show up and your doctor will be able to advise what vitamins, supplements and diet will be in your best interest to follow.

Another thing you can do is become a volunteer. Not only can volunteering make improvements in your community, it can make improvements in your life. You will have the joy and satisfaction of helping others as well. For maximum benefits, you should volunteer on a regular basis.

When you make a mistake; do not see it as a failure, but learn from them and laugh at them. Having a sense of humor will help you to live longer.

Get your self a friend or companion, someone who will be a listening ear. Does not matter who, just someone to vent your problems out on. This will keep you from suppressing them and being the cause of stress. Another advantage is that your friend will another prespective and find different solutions for you.Try and keep your mind sharp by doing daily mental exercises like crossword or Su Doku. Remember that your brain is like a muscle....use it or lose it!

Consider getting a furry or feathered companion. It has long been common knowledge that pets are great stress relievers and can help you live longer. Plus some pets, like dogs, can help get you moving outdoors and get some of that daily exercise that everyone needs.

Are you a singer, do you play a music instrument, are you religious or political minded. Join a group and put a bit of passion into your life...a great way to make friends.

Main thing is, do not become afraid, accept your life and rejoice in the stages that life goes through.Keep positive and keep away from negative emotions and people.Spend a few minutes each day being gratful for the things that are good in your life.Write then down in your journal.

Fill up your social calendar. It has been proven that friends of all types can help you to live longer. They may even have more of an impact on your longevity than your family.

The problem is most of us live far to quite a life, you really must get out and "do".Open your windows of your mind as well as your house.Fresh air and sunlight is great. Get up and get out, it will work wonders for your mood and health.

One reason for our increased longevity is that our industrialized society has broadened our ability to have good things including improved sanitation, medicines and other medical technologies, improved nutritional knowledge, and better food and water supplies have all contributed to our ability to live longer. The purposeful goal of living a life that is natural, simple and free of toxins can also help us to achieve this goal of living a long life.

There are those of us who aspire to live to be 100 and still enjoy the lives we live. We want to maintain our mobility, our independence and our bodily functions. To do this we must take good care of our body parts while we go through our youth, and our middle age so that by the time we enter our 60's and 70's we have learned how to age gracefully and with dignity.

Growing old gracefully just doesn't happen without putting some thought and action into achieving this noble goal. Our lifestyle determined by the risks we take and the healthy habits we cultivate, or not, have a bearing on the state of our health in later years.

Aging successfully means that we actually get to achieve old age by caring for our body and by not participating in dangerous activity that would put our body at risk for disease or injury. This applies to sexual activity as well as physical sporting or work/pleasure activities as well. It entails thinking about consequences for our behaviour so that we are protecting the health of our body in everything that we do.

For you to aging successfully hinges on providing your body with proper food and exercise throughout every life stage. Each stage has different needs from embryonic, infant, toddler, child, older child, teen, young adult, adult and aging adult.

Your body grows rapidly right from conception through the teen years, when it changing to reproductive tasks and matures. Growing and reproducing has different nutritional requirements from the mature and aging body and so you must make good choices when you plan meals so that everyone gathered around the table has what their body needs at that particular stage.

There are vital nutrients that our bodies require to build cells and to function properly. These needs change over time and so our food selection choices should change to. There are certified nutritionists who work in clinics, schools, health centres and hospitals that are available to answer our questions regarding what foods are best at which life stage. Books are available on this subject in libraries and in bookstores.

Reaching old age may also be provided for by genetic and environmental factors. There is no control over the genetics part of it, but we can do something about the environmental side of things. Water,food and air are things that we consume.Alcohol,drugs and tobacco, along with sun exposure are very much things that we can have a hand on.
