Base Oils

By: Jack Taylor

Since the 1970's, when Baldwin's expanded into alternative therapies and medicines, our collection of base oils has grown considerably. These oils are used to improve the circulation and elasticity of the skin and can be used alone or as the primary ingredient to create your own unique aromatherapy oils. To create aromatherapy oils, we recommend that you mix 95% massage base oil with 5% essential oil. Our selection is wide, varied and cost-effective and we also offer a range of books on the subject which will provide you with the information pertinent to the oils you are mixing.

Each massage base oil has its own unique properties. Apricot oil, for example, contains essential fatty acids and is rich in vitamins A and E and nourishes, moisturises and regenerates the skin, making it ideal for facial skin care as well as massage. It can be enriched with Grapeseed or Almond oils to provide a truly indulgent experience. Other base oils include Avocado, carrot and Coconut Fractionated oil.

However, the jewel in the crown of our base oils must be Baldwin's Jojoba Base Oil, which is a unique liquid wax, extracted from the bean and used as an oil. Due to its specific chemical composition, it is particularly useful as a treatment for acne and for those with sensitive and oily skins. It can also be used to treat eczema and psoriasis, as well as effectively combating dandruff.

You will find details of our wide range of base oils on our website, but should you require further information on any of our vast range of natural products, you can contact us through our website or via telephone and our experienced staff will be only too happy to help.
