Bonding: a great method of teeth whitening

By: Gen Wright

We are without a doubt moving in the direction of an age where overindulgence is becoming the norm. We often do not pay heed to the impact till it is too late and then we jump on the recovery missions like we find an instant sense of necessity. As an example, look at yellowing teeth. Without taking in account the unlucky ones who inherit a genetic burden of yellowed teeth, there are many who self-impose it. They overindulge for years and start to form extrinsic and intrinsic stains. The extrinsic stains also known as surface stains, die down with some effort. The intrinsic ones become highly stubborn stains and they need to be rid of through professional teeth whitening techniques.

Bonding is one of the new wave teeth whitening method. It utilizes the concept of composite resins or veneers to cover the stained teeth. This provides an even appearance to teeth which are largely out of shape. Today, porcelain is widely used as the material for bonding as its color closes upon the natural teeth color. There are two types of bonding: composite bonding and veneer bonding.

Composite bonding- For this teeth whitening measure, the front of the teeth is minimized in structure to abstain from a bulky new tooth. Mild acids are then used to form microscopic grooves into the surface of the teeth. Next, a composite resin is implemented over the tooth. This should match the color of the proximal teeth. This resin is further put into a neat shape, utilizing a special light, and smoothened for lasting effect.

Veneer bonding- Porcelain veneers are more costly than the composite ones and thus they come out much stronger than the composite ones. They are highly effective for teeth whitening. For this type of bonding, the dentist takes an impression of the tooth and ships it to the dental lab for near replication. This method also uses preparation of tooth by making the tooth surface unsmooth. This is done through a mild etching solution. Dental bonding cement starts the bonding of the veneer to the dental surface. Though the porcelain veneers are exorbitantly priced, they are far long lasting than composite bonding and match the original tooth color with greater accuracy. This is exactly why people choose this teeth whitening process.

It is important to understand that the intrinsic stains are developed over the teeth through years of indulgence. We hardly think about about the delinquency element in our lives. Either we get reliant on nicotine or tobacco or else we take a powerful liking to caffeine in coffee intake. All this is responsible to active discoloration and staining. Perhaps we realize it too late.

Teeth whitening toothpastes also solve the issue at moderate levels. Apart from bonding there are bleaching and crowning methods which are used by the masses. It largely depends on the amount of damage inflicted on the tooth. Teeth whitening techniques can be adopted at home and it can also be undergone at a dentist’s office. Both the proesses use carbamide peroxide gel and a mouth fitting tray for their execution.
