Casting Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV Show

Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV Show burst on the scene to rave reviews, but making a hit television series takes a lot of hard work. Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show was a little bit easier to get started because there were three films that were made which is where the idea for a TV series came from.

As the network and producers were gearing up for the pilot of Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show, the biggest things circulated around town were the casting rumors. The news that was spreading the most buzz around town was about the casting of the main characters. Sarah Connor who is the main character was played by Linda Hamilton in all three of the Terminator films. That was the very first person who they cast for the television series and the part went to Lena Headey. Headey has been in movies such as The Cave, The Brothers Grimm and 300. The role of Sarah Connor is a very big part because Linda Hamilton really made that character one that people remember.

The next character that needed to be cast was the role of John Connor. There were rumors circulating for a long time that the character of John Connor would be played by Thomas Dekker. Thomas Dekker had been in various episodes of Heroes and it was eventually confirmed that he would in fact be playing the role of John Connor in Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show. John Connor is the leader of mankind’s resistance and rebellion against the machines and was played by Edward Furlong in the second film. They decided that the television series would be picking up after the second Terminator movie at the time when Sarah was on the move with her son as she trained him to realize his important destiny.

Thomas Dekker has been in many different television shows including House, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Reba. Many people were very excited that he would be playing the part of John Connor, but no one was more thrilled then Thomas Dekker himself. The second Terminator movie was a box office hit, so it is no wonder why so many people have been so excited about Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show. The buzz and fan base has been strong since the start of the show and it only seems to be growing with the upcoming release of the first season on DVD.
