Women put in a tremendous amount of work into looking their all time best for that one special day, to the detriment of the men they're about to marry. Because truly, who can keep up that look for even another day? And yet most men want their wives to look the way they did they day they married them, including the long hair, the slim body, etc.). And most women settle in to taking the rest of their lives to change the their husbands into something they husband can never be. Does this sound like a set-up for marriage failure? Twenty years down the road the woman hardly looks like she did on her wedding day, to the dismay of her estranged husband who is now hitting mid-life crisis and perhaps for the first time learns that he has a wandering eye. And the woman looks at her husband and says: "I don't know who you are anymore, you're not the man I married." He changed indeed, but not the way she was hoping for. Why is our hair the first thing that we chop off right after we get married and instead we pack on the pounds? Perhaps you've seen the happy couple totally in shape while they were dating, and a year after their wedding you run into them at the mall and "holy cow!" they both look chubby. "It's my wife's great cuisine," he exclaims proudly, displaying her domestic skills around his mid section. What about us women though? We have enjoyed our own cooking for the most part of our lives, so why gain weight after we're married? More importantly, how do we get off the unnecessary weight, without falling into the endless downward spiral called "diet trap? Try these 3 steps that may help you get that attractive and tight body back that leaves your feeling gorgeous about yourself: 1. Keep your gym membership (if you don't have one, get one). As soon as children arrive, and perhaps even before then, the schedule changes and for many the first thing to get cut off the daily routine or the financial burden is a gym membership or exercise in general. We make excuses and say things like: "I just don't have the time anymore." "It's too expensive and I only go once or twice a week, I might as well cancel the membership and start working out at home." Warning: Working out at home takes more self-discipline than most people have. If you have to cut down on your finances, make your gym membership one of the last things you cut out of your budget. 2. Keep your long hair. I know having long hair takes a lot of time and patience and that is one of the main reasons it gets chopped off in the first place. I dare you to keep your long and sexy hair and to change your attitude from "dang, I have to spend an extra 30 minutes blow-drying and styling it" to "I'm so lucky to have such gorgeous hair, it's like having free jewelry crowning my face and it makes me feel so sexy." 3. Listen to your body first. Food is one of those great social bonding experiences. Have you ever gone to a restaurant and while everyone is looking through the menu you find yourself asking your friend or date: "What are you having?" As if it really matters. What really matters that prompts the question in the first place is the fact that eating the same or something similar lets us feel closer to the other person. It's a strange logic, but nonetheless a potential trap for us to eat what our bodies don't need. Try listening to your body instead and ask you Inner Self or your Higher Self or ask your stomach directly: "What do you feel like today?" Listen to that voice instead.
