Although an Apple iPhone can take the place of several different devices such as your MP3 player and even your desktop computer with the ability to surf the internet it still has a primary function of being a cell phone to fulfill. This means that there are several things that you would expect it to do. A major advantage that the iPhone offers is that it provides you with an extremely quick and easy way to send text messages. If you are used to using your cell phone to send MMS messages then you may be a little disappointed with the Apple iPhone. Despite having a plethora of superior features it lacks the ability to send MMS messages. Most modern cell phones allow MMS messaging and it can be a great way for you to keep your contacts up to date with your current activities. Quite understandably there was an outcry when it became public knowledge that the iPhone doesn't support MMS. Since the iPhone does not allow you to send MMS messages this might be something that may put you off purchasing one. Luckily you do not have to miss out on owning one of these innovative devices as there is a way around it. To get around the lack of MMS you can use the iPhone's email capabilities rather than MMS and still be able to send pictures you have taken to your friend's cell phones. This is actually very simple to achieve with the iPhone. All you need to do is pick the photo that you would like to send and tap on the send photo link which you will find in the bottom left hand side of your iPhone. This will actually send the photo via e-mail but this doesn't mean that your friend has to have e-mail set up on their cell phone. Your e-mail will be delivered to them in the form of a MMS message. The e-mail address that you send the photos to will usually take the form of the recipient's photo number with their carrier's e-mail suffix. For example, if your friend's number was 1234567890 then you would address the e-mail to 1234567890@theircarrier.com. You will need to know who your friend's carrier is but once you've found that out you can keep on sending them e-mails which they will receive as MMS messages. To help you here are the e-mail address formats for some of the major cell phone carriers: Amp'd Mobile - @vzwpix.com, Alltel - @message.alltel.com, AT&T/Cingular - @mms.att.com, Sprint/Nextel - @messaging.sprintpcs.com, T-Mobile - @tmomail.net, Verizon - @vzpix.com and Virgin Mobile - @vmobl.net.
