Just a year ago, Paul Potts sold mobile phones for his money in a quaint place in Scotland. That had been better than working shop shelves, which was his life for years. Life was not bright to Paul Potts and it seemed the horrendous bullying he’d suffered in his youth while at school as well as the serious injuries he sustained in what seemed like a simple fall from a motorcycle in 1999 destroyed Paul Potts’ future. Alas, for Paul Potts is a man with a future. Paul Potts Goes Global At one stage Paul Potts was so broke that he was only able to buy food on a credit card, now thanks to an awesome opera voice which has earned him an incredibly successful debut single, he is recognized all over the world via the Paul Potts Britain’s Got Talent Audition. Paul Potts only just went global, and as if to attest to his Stateside appeal, Paul Potts is now to be invited on the Oprah TV show, herself so famous Oprah herself today only has her first name. He’s has travelled far our Paul, but he’s still ‘our Paul Potts’, a calm unassuming gentleman who really does not understand how big a star he is. "It's difficult to even believe now that this is happening to me," he said to a US TV show. "If anybody had told me six months ago that I would be here, I would have told them to get off the funny juice." The Journey That Almost Didn’t Start However Paul Potts nearly did not begin his amazing trip towards stardom. Mr Potts always sung and he worshipped it so much that he had even made a few performances in regional operatic societies. But a fear of being rejected slowed his progress from pursuing a professional singing career, worried that if he never gone for it, at least he’d never be told ‘no’. It wasn’t until February of last season, he found a website for the "Britain's Got Talent" talent TV show, that Paul Potts decided to overcome his fear. And what a decision. In a moment of strength he opted that he would apply and since the coin landed on heads, Paul Potts’ head has been spinning. From YouTube to Chart Domination The notoriously tough to please judges adored Paul Potts’ rendition of Puccini's aria, "Nessun Dorma". He became a YouTube phenomenon his appearance and he made a whole bunch of stellar performances which made him the top contestant of Britain’s Got Talent. Since then he’s been working hard on his debut CD ‘One Chance’ Paul Potts CD Album. One decision was all Paul Potts needed to get his CD to the top of the charts worldwide, and it seems Paul catches the ear of more than the show's judges these days – I hope he’s proud of his success.
