The purpose of a resume is not to land you a job, but rather to get you an interview. This concept is important because it will help you familiarize yourself with the resume process. When you feel compelled to include unrelated experience and clutter a resume with irrelevant facts, think twice. Don't populate the page with empty sentences and dull detail. You can avoid this downfall by prioritizing your accomplishments and identifying pertinent information related to your new job search. Make a list and work diligently from your list of priorities.

2) Good Strategy

Begin the resume writing process with the end in mind. Before you commit final words to paper, think about what you want the result to be. Consider your choice of font, format, keywords, and action words. Every aspect of your document should serve a distinct purpose. Resume templates can help you bring out your best and formulate it accurately.

3) Be Assertive but Honest

A resume is not a time to be humble. Be proud of your accomplishments, highlight them, and make the reader take notice. Your statements should always be truthful and results-oriented. In today’s job market, many employers do background checks. If you get caught in a lie, you’ll be dismissed (if you get the job) embarrassed and humiliated. Certainly not worth the risk

4) Stand Out

It is imperative that your resume sets you apart from the other candidates. This means your resume must be dynamic, grab attention, and offer unique information. Remember, you may be dynamic in person, and all you’re trying to accomplish is that face to face interview. Your dynamic personality has to come across on paper!

5) Don't Stress

Writing a resume is easiest with a template. It will jump start your idea’s and help you with the format. Make sure you have it proof read before completion and get several opinions from friends and family members. Don’t stress, work diligently and it will come together.
