The techniques for finding a great spouse are very similar to those used to find a good job. This month I'm offering advice on partnerships that will help you with your job search, and dating life. First off: DATE LIKE YOU WISH TO MARRY! Though it may not look like such a great opportunity at first, don't judge too quickly. Some excellent jobs didn't look very promising in terms of money, growth, company, product or people when they began. After several meetings, these problems were ironed out, resulting in a customized position with greatly improved paychecks and prospects. Don't jump too quickly to remove yourself from the competition. Have a discussion about it. Take positive action. Fight hard to get in the correct doors. Don't be shy; seek out the best ones yourself. MAKE THEM LOVE YOU LIKE NO OTHER! Even though you do not have to accept every proposal, you do need to sell the value of yourself to an organization. The most qualified applicant isn't always the one who gets the job, but rather the person who is the best at making their worth known to the company. Don't assume that your experience will win the job for you, make sure you tell them why you're the right person for the job. Fight! Identify their concerns and BE the solution! YOU SHOULD NEVER DISCUSS MARRIAGE ON THE FIRST DATE! Nearly everybody wants to discuss the subject of money first. Avoid this at all costs. Yes, I realize this is difficult. Get an idea of what specific needs an organization has and then spend some time translating your skills and qualifications into their terms. You can get to a fair price for your services to their company, only after you have both located some common ground. DON'T TAKE EVERY PROPOSAL! Even though you can't complete a deal at this time, you have considered an opportunity and built new relationships, so it was not wasted time. Everyone had some benefit from the experience, and you are now free to move on to things better suited to your requirements. You never know. You might just find a better job, AND a spouse than you could have ever imagined!
