Learn More About Symptoms of AIDS

AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome is a medical problem that can be suffered by anyone irrespective of age or gender.

AIDS is a horrendous disease that is not just caused by any particular infection but is caused when various infections and symptoms fuse together to give birth to this dreadful disease. These different infections and symptoms ultimately lead to the destruction of the immune system of a human being thereby, making the patient’s life at high risk.

AIDS works as lowering the defense level in the human body and contributes in hampering the normal operation and performance of the different organs of the body to a very large extent. As AIDS can be caused due to combination of various infections and symptoms, the major causes of getting AIDS are through the two kinds of viruses. They are:

1. HIV 1
2. HIV 2

These two viruses are mostly responsible for hampering the functioning of the defense mechanism in the human body. Apart from these two kinds of viruses, there are other opportunistic infections and symptoms as well that cause the dangerous disease of AIDS. They are:

• Toxoplasmosis- It is a very dangerous disease that contributes negatively in affecting the brain and nervous system of a human body. This type of disease is can even lead to horrifying stages like coma and death. The common symptoms are confusion, headache, and fever. It is recommended that people who face such symptoms should contact a doctor immediately as these symptoms will not only lead to the disease of Toxoplasmosis but even to AIDS.

• Tumor of Kaposi’s Sarcoma- This disease is a kind of cancer that appears on the human skin. It can also largely affect the internal organs of a body like mouth, stomach, lymph nodes, bowel, and lungs. The common symptoms of this tumor are blotches in different colors like reddish purple, brown, and brown-red.

• Pneumocystis Jiroveci Pneumonia- This is a strong lung infection, which is caused due to this pathogen, which can further lead to AIDS. The common symptoms of this kind of Pneumonia include cough, night sweat, fever, breath shortness and weight loss.

• Herpes Simplex Virus- Oral herpes can be faced due to the Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and the infection of the Herpes Simplex Virus 2 causes genital herpes that is very dangerous and painful.

• Cytomegalovirus- The retinal tissue of the human body is directly attacked by this virus. If proper medication and treatment is not carried out, it can lead to loss of vision. There are various symptoms of this disease that includes blurred vision, blind spots, floating spots, and flashing lights.

AIDS is an illness that is caused by the infection of the HIV i.e. the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. As there is no cure to this illness, people should take preventive measures so as to eliminate the risk of facing this horrendous illness.

It is observed that people suffering from the illness of AIDS are looked upon with indifference and not accepted in society. It is high time that people should understand the fact that this illness can be faced by anyone and must respect and regard the people suffering from it.
