If you cast your mind back through the long history of mobile phones, it’s difficult today to imagine them having no camera, since the massive total of mobile phones that haven’t got cameras in the world, today, is about 4 and a bit. Camera phones are so commonplace, nowadays, that it actually IS difficult to picture a time when they didn’t exist, even though it was only about 5 years ago. Not a great, to be sure, as it was only VGA, but that’s not the point. It set the path for others to come later. So, it really was Sony Ericsson who began the craze in the UK, back before happy slapping videos, and Youtube uploads from your mobile. They were the trend-setters, the ones who changed the world.
And now they’re at it again, with their upcoming Sony Ericsson C905, a mobile phone which may well be the greatest camera phone the UK has EVER experienced!

Let’s begin with the obvious killer feature: the Sony Ericsson C905 has an 8.1 megapixel camera. It’s the first mobile phone destined for the UK to have that, so it’s not unfair to say that it’s getting some pretty big attention because of that! The key question, however, is whether this Sony Ericsson beastie is actually any good, because as we all know, ramping up the megapixels alone won’t make a truly mind-blowing camera phone. It needs good lenses, good software, tons of features and gawd knows what else to make it truly great.
Fortunately, Sony Ericsson know what they’re doingtheir stuff (they were the first, remember), so what we get here is not JUST 8.1 megapixels, something that other new mobile phones can and will overtake in time. Unlike mobile phones from other companies, you also get Cyber-Shot technology, meaning it actually is a genuine successor to your digital camera. And the example photos floating round out there tell you one thing especially; categorically, here and now, the Sony Ericsson C905 is going to blow you away!
