Sony Ericsson G700 and G900 - smartphones for the masses

By: Mobileshop.com LTD

Sony Ericsson have deemed that the smartphone should be used by more people than currently use them. To make that happen, they've made a whole product range, and mean to fill it with mobile phones that blur the lines between normal phones and smartphones; the awesome new G-Series.
Sony Ericsson G700 - Smartphone in disguise
What do you get if you take a smartphone, and make it look and feel like a normal phone? Or, to say it another way, what if you take a normal phone, pull its guts out and replace them with smartphone bits? I'll tell you. You get the Sony Ericsson G700!
When you see it, or hold it, the Sony Ericsson G700 looks and feels just like any other normal mobile phone out there on the market. Well, ok, it looks like one of the cooler normal mobile phones out there, but the point is that it doesn't look like a smartphone. Well, a smartphone is precisely what it is! You'll see that when you brush the screen, and see that it is, in reality, a touchscreen.
That means that what we have here is a UIQ-powered smartphone, hidden away in the shell of a normal mobile phone. You get all the cool benefits of a touchscreen phone like the P1 with a 'normob'-style body, making it a real smartphone for the common man!
Sony Ericsson G900 - Stealth Smartphone!
And of course, let's not forget that the G700 has a big brother in the Sony Ericsson G900. This has all the same cool usability of the G700, with the same vibe, drawn from normal mobile phones, and importantly, it's just as simple to use! The main difference, though, is that with this beauty, the camera's been uprated to pump it up to 5 megapixels, plus autofocus, meaning your photos will come out even sharper and more fantastic. On top of that, you also get WiFi, letting you get online through hot spots wherever they exist!
When you check out both these mobile phones, Sony Ericsson's game plan becomes apparent. They want to sell more smartphones, and advance the world of mobile phones, to make it more super-powered... But the problem is, not everyone wants a mobile with hundreds of buttons and knobs. And those customers are never going to buy an obvious smartphone, because, well, they're nervous of the idea, and of not being able to work it. So, if you're Sony Ericsson, what do you do? You make a smartphone that is looks like, feels like, and is as easy to as, a normal mobile phone. That's precisely what the G-Series mobile phones are, and precisely why they should take off, big time!
