Freelance workers have been an important part of the world’s economy all throughout civilization, with indications dating back to military freelancer guerillas in the early 1800‘s. One of the first recognized freelancers was Ludwig Van Beethoven, the noted musician. In modern times, freelancing is a common occupation that is continuously expanding . There are currently more than 10 million freelancers and independent contractors in the US alone . Freelancing work is attractive to many different people, including work at home parents, seniors, and individuals interested in making extra income. Although these downfalls create many obstacles, the convenience of making your own hours and working when you want is incentive to overcome them. Freelancers can work their own hours, so that they have more chances to be with their families and concentrate their efforts on other responsibilities. Working as a freelancer gives you not just the independence of choosing when you work, you can work on a variety of different projects for many different clients, offering you a good deal of flexibility in your job. Many companies even commonly employ freelancers on a permanent basis, many times with benefits, especially in the freelance writing field. For thousands of people, working as a freelancer is an enjoyable, opportune, and moneymaking profession.
