He finds out about Neds talent and persuades Ned to work with him to solve murders and split the reward money with him. He has a daughter that he never sees, which Ned only discovers in the final episode of the first season. His favorite flavor of pie is rhubarb pie.

She develops a relationship with Chucks aunts but hasnt told them of Chucks continued presence. She was a jockey before working at Neds pie shop.

And, finally, Ned may never have known about his talent if it werent for his faithful dog, Digby. In the Pushing Daisies Season One on DVD opening episode, Digby gets hit by a semi truck, and Ned accidentally brings him back to life. Ned now pets Digby with a fake arm, because he would die if Ned was to touch him again, and somehow the dog also senses this.
