Are you sick and tired of sitting at home and not doing anything? Well I am. It bores me. However, I have discovered a hobby that is very interesting. I am sure you have heard about stamp collecting but I expect you to shrug me off because you think that you are better off sitting at home and not doing anything rather than stamp collecting.

However, what you do not know about stamp collecting is that it will entice you even if you have never thought of it before. The bright colours and fine print on the stamp are after hard to resist. There is something you have to know: Taking up a new hobby takes some guts. You may not know anything about stamp collecting, therefore, this is a guide where you can know everything you need to know about stamp collecting.

Obviously, to start a stamp collection, you need to get stamps. The cheapest way to get stamps is by peeling them off from postages and packages. This is a job that can be easily be done by you or even the little ones. See, stamp collecting can be a family hobby too! Another alternative is to get a large packet of stamps from the bookstore. By having a large amount of stamps, it can give you a head start.

First, let me start you off by telling you about the tools you need. You need a place to store the stamp; therefore, I suggest you get an album or an archival stock book. This is important as it keeps you stamps in a very good condition. Make sure that the albums have hinges as you do not want to place your stamps in a fixed position. You may want and need to classify them in future. By gluing them to the album, you may not only spoil the stamps you may not be able to move them in future.

However, there is one other thing you should note too when getting an album. You have to ensure that the album has hinges. The hinges will help you fix the stamps to the album. It is not advisable for you to paste you stamps with glue. Why? It is because, by gluing you stamps to the album, it makes the stamps have permanent positions and thus, you will not be able to classify your stamps in future.

Apart from the tools, you also need to get the stamps. Where? You may get a large packet of stamp from the bookstores, Alternatively, you may also remove used stamps from postages. This will allow you to safe money but it may also be time consuming. You have to be careful when removing the stamps as they may tear when you try removing them.

Natural disasters and accidents are inevitable. What happens if there is a flood? Yes. all you albums and years of collecting stamp are gone to waste. I suggest that you get a few or maybe a bundle of polythene packet. You can keep your album in this packets so that it would not get wet. It will be terrible to see your stamp collection for past years gone to waste.

Now that you know this, your stamp collection is only a step away. Why don't you get your family or even your friends to start donating stamps to you? Remember to take a closer look at the stamp!
