Together toward Success

Charlie Gay might be an unknown name to you, but the events he has organized have been enjoyed by millions. He began his impressive career when he was only 22 years old. By age 24, he was organizing events for Margaret Thatcher. Soon, he was promoting some of the top events in the world for people like Luciano Pavarotti, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac, and Phil Collins.

In 1991, Charlie Gay moved to America to work with Cher's personal management team. He also co-founded Promenade Pictures with Frank Yablans. (Frank is the founder of Buena Vista and the head of Paramount Pictures.) Since that time, Charlie he has organized events for the Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Candlestick Park, and the Washington, D.C. Mall.

With all of the work and travel in his life, you'd think Charlie had no time for changing the world. You'd be wrong. Charlie Gay's real joy is in his work with Humanity Unites Brilliance, or HUB. HUB is a for-profit organization striving to bring people out of mere survival and into self-empowerment and sustained abundance.

Both his successes and failures have always been driven by Charlie Gay's enthusiasm and passion. Zeal has led people to the pinnacle of success, but it has also gotten people into a lot of trouble. Charlie is no different, but his successes in life have greatly surpassed his failures. Two of his recent successes include his work with Nelson Mandela's Mineseeker Foundation and his commitment to organize Billy Graham's final crusade.

Charlie Gay has always been passionate about bringing people together whether through charity or music. He believes everyone has a desire for doing something great, but most people stop with desire. They don't know how to act upon it. That's what makes HUB so great. People with common goals can come together uniting their individual strengths.

Mozambique is a great point of example. Massive flooding recently forced people from their homes into large refugee camps. Non-profit aids were out of money and resources, and even the United Nations World Food Program was unable to help. Charlie spoke to Heidi Baker about the situation to find out what needed to be done. Heidi had been a primary care-giver in Mozambique for over 20 years.

Because Heidi felt she was not able to deal with the hunger problem herself, Charlie contacted Larry Jones of the non-profit Feed the Children organization. They in turn contacted the for-profit company Nourish the Children, and in doing so, they were able to deliver $2 million worth of meals to the starving refugees in Mozambique via a factory in China.

Everyone can help others. Everyone can reach goals. Look inside yourself and ask yourself where your talents lie. The saying holds true: "Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll never go hungry." Money isn't the answer. Unite with others toward a common goal and feed off each other's strengths to change your community and your world!
