However, one must be reminded that these medications don't work overnight. One has to take these medications for several weeks to several months. The reason for this is that the toe nail fungus likes to thrive underneath the toe nail and it will be really hard for it to be eradicated if its environment is moist and warm. So wearing socks as well as footwear is discouraged during treatment so that the fungus will not have the chance to thrive.
