Before using it, you will need to apply a sealer to the outside, and place some sand in the bottom to keep the flames from directly touching it.

When you’re ready to purchase your new wood stove, make sure you examine all your options. More advanced wood stoves, which can be approximately two hundred dollars more, may have more benefits for you. For example, EPA-certified stoves are more efficient, resulting in less need to clean the chimney, and therefore less money spent. Also, they expel about 90% less smoke. Furthermore, most advanced stoves come with glass doors, so you can enjoy watching the fire burn.

You can purchase a fireplace or mantel to accent your wood stove. Fireplace screens, candelabras, and fireplace grates are just some of the fireplace accessories, which can also be used to add that special touch. Fireplaces don’t just look nice; they provide extra space to display those family photos, figurines, or hang stockings for Christmas.
