History of Diabetes
Diabetes is not a newly born disease, it has been with human race from long back, but we came to knew about it in 1552 B.C. During First Century A.D diabetes described by Arateus as 'the melting down of flesh and limbs into urine.
Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that is primarily characterized by insulin resistance, relative insulin deficiency, and hyperglycemia. In type 2 diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin.
Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is also called insulin-dependent diabetes. It is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin, a hormone needed to convert sugar (glucose) into energy. Diabetes is a lifelong disease for which there is not yet a cure.
