  • Treating Diabetes: The Chinese Way!
Diabetes, as a disease, bears with it many misconceptions which are not only deceptive to the uninitiated victim, but may also impact his health negatively on account of the misguided patterns of treatment he follows. The problems of that half-baked knowledge cause are further compounded by the myriad 'miracle cures' that keep cropping up, almost everywhere you look. The other side of the coin however is just as perplexing. Many alternative therapies are shunned simply because tried and tested allopathic medicine refuses to recognize them, despite the surprisingly encouraging results these treatments have brought about. One such alternative form of Diabetes treatment is Chinese Medicine.
  • How High Are You On The Chromium Scales?
Diabetes enjoys the reputation of being one of the oldest of all chronic diseases known to man. However, it is only in the recent times that the incidence of diabetes has risen on an alarming scale, with more cases being diagnosed with every passing day. Experts have attributed this incline to the increasingly unhealthy lifestyles of the modern world, which when accompanied by skewed dietary habits, are fertile ground for diabetes to set in and progress in leaps and bounds. This has made researchers sit up and pay even more specialized attention to diabetes control and treatment, as conventional methods have yielded as many disastrous side-effects, as they have produced encouraging results. One of the more scientifically proven methods of diabetes treatment, which has gained itself the cynical nod as well, is supplementing the diet with chromium.
  • Diabetes: The 'toothy' Side Of The Tale
Diabetes holds the distinction of being one of the few diseases which is as prolific in the causes that lead to it, as the conditions which it, in turn, brings about. When mismanaged, the disease leaves virtually no part of your body untouched, beginning at your heart and kidneys and moving forward to your eyes, teeth and even your nervous system. However, while these facets of diabetes are relatively better known, a large majority of people all over the world are still in the dark about the effect diabetes has on their teeth. Periodontal disease, which is a bacterial infection of the gums and the bone which fasten your teeth to your mouth, damages them, thus promoting decay and eventually a permanent loss of teeth. This infection further goes on to hamper your diabetes management, thus forcing the victim to deal with further diabetes complications, while also struggling to keep his periodontal disease in control.
